INTERDICT, OR INTERDICTION

Legal Term: INTERDICT, OR INTERDICTION
Definition: eccles. law. An ecclesiastical censure, by which divine services are prohibited either to particular persons or particular places. These tyrannical edicts, issued by ecclesiastical powers, have never been in force in the United States.
