TO DISPONE

Legal Term: TO DISPONE
Definition: Scotch law. This is a technical word, which implies, it is said, a transfer of feudal property by a particular deed, and is not equivalent to the term alienate, but Lord Eldon says, "with respect to the word dispone, if I collect the opinions of a majority of the judgcs rightly, I am of opinion that the word dispone would have the same effect as the word alienate.) (q. v.) Sandford on Entails, 179, note.
