How the hell do schools like Suffolk, Vermont Law School, and Northeastern get away with charging as much tuition as BC or BU (all around $38,000) when schools with better progams suchs as George Mason, Maryland, and William and Mary are $8,000 cheaper?

Schools like suffolk and vermont have many more applicants than GM or WM and people are willing to pay to get in anywhere. The problem is that a 3 yr law degree plus room and board will give you a tab of over $200k; which doesnt include undergrad or postgrad. Thats a big nut to carry. The math doesnt make any sense.

Annual tuition is relative to the state and even demand for entrance. Columbia University in NY charges $43,470 for tuition and $15,035 for R&B whereas American University in MD charges $37,190 for tuition and $13,365 for R&B. AU is not in the top 10 but its cost of tuition and R&B are as high as Columbia.

If you dont want to pay college or LS tuition, then your option is to continue with your lower paying career.

I dont think its ridiculous to have $200k of school debt if your can earn $100k plus due to the degree. I think its a solid investment and the return on your money is about 10 yrs with a moderate repayment plan.

Who is making $100k out of law school.......Only the top 2 or 3 from each class. The rest of the litter is bumping and grinding at salaries must less then $100k. Where are you going to law school and what is your rank?
