My undergrad is in electrical engineering from Notre Dame. My law degree is from DePaul (class of 2011). Which state(s) have the greatest need for engineer/attorneys? Google search didnt yield any helpful results so i'm seeking assistance from the forum community.

The largest intellectual property law firm is Fish RIchardson. Its also the best. They have offices in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, NY, Southern California, DC, Minnesota, Munich, Delaware, and Boston. I'd start looking in those cities first.

Thanks Sly. Looks like FR only recruits top law school grads that graduate with distinction. I dont know anyone there but i may make a cold call to try and get to know someone there. Maybe even take one of the partners out to eat in exchange for some advice. Thanks again.

dont limit your search to fish richardson. Any of the regional or international law firms are always looking for patent attorneys to join their practice. I think its more important to have the degrees and the experience and then just jump on a plane and take the best job offer.

Intellectual property law is on fire and law school grads that practice patent trademark or copyright law make strong salaries regardless of location. The more specialized your engineering background, coupled with the law degree the greater your chances of an amazing career in the law. Dont worry about the location. Location can be where ever you want.
