I was so glad that i discovered that New York State permits admission on motion, without examination, for applicants who have practiced for five of the preceding seven years. The other requirement is that the applicant be admitted to practice in at least one reciprocal jurisdiction, and have graduated from an American Bar Association approved law school.

Florida is one of a few states that does not permit admission by motion. In FL, you must sit for the bar exam. That helps keep the number of licensed attorneys in check so that they dont flood the market!
