hi all,
i just grad law school, had a biz loss on a biz i started in law school of 25k,
am going through debt settlement (not bankruptcy bc i know bankruptcy is like financial suicide) , however, as unemployed, i am insolvent
i want to sit for the bar, but with board of examiners bar me from sitting for the exam if i am going through debt settlement?
do they pull credit reports on you take the bar?
(ny and nj)
there are a lot of ques on the exam application about debt and whether any debts are late.... if i have bad credit right now due to this biz loss and insolvency and being unemployed... does that mean they wont even let me sit for the exam?
what can i do?
i got into this debt not from spending but from a failed biz venture that overwhelmed me while i was trying to finish law school.
im really worried i wont be able to sit for the bar exam or they will pull my credit report
is this true?
i would think there are a lot of in debt and unemployed recent grads who may have similar problem,
thank you in advance
