I guess the news is out that Anna Nicole Smith overdosed on vitamins, antibotics and diet pills. Does anyone know what this means for that Doctor friend of hers that was under investigation for giving her prescriptions illegally?

Prescribing non-essential drugs, especailly narcotics, to people that do not require them is highly illegal. I think people have become to lax about prescription medication. There is a reason why it is only issued by prescription. the whole point is to make sure the drug does not get into the hands of someone that does not require it and that your use is monitored by a professional. Many drugs have significant side effects and many drugs are contraindicated, that is to say they can not be mixed with others. So when a doctor abuses the prescription priviledge he can get into a lot of trouble. Prescribing non-essential medicatio is very illegal.
