I'm fortunate that I don't have any loans from undergrad (b/c of scholarships) and that my parents are willing to help me pay for law school.....but only about half. Needless to say, i'm anxious about getting student loans.

The entrance counseling for my school was at mapping-your-future.org and they have this calculator where you it tells you how much you should be making given how much you'll have in loans (it assumes that you shouldn't pay more than 8% gross income on loans). With just the Stafford loans(subsidized and not), it says I should be making close to $110,000/ year. As someone who is interested in public interest/government, this does not seem realistic unless I make the under $50k to qualify from LRAP.

I've never had any debt before, so taking out so much in loans, especially when seeing this income figure makes me very anxious. Anyone else feeling the same way or feeling that they'll be pushed into practicing law they don't like to pay the bills?
