Can a divorced spouse receive social security benefits from her ex?

I thought social security benefits were unattachable in any type of proceeding?

Social security benefits are not transferrable. In a divorce, the spouse claims SS benefits usually takes compensation in another form such as other marital assets. Thats why its important to factor the value of SS into other property distributions.

i think a decedent's SS benefits can be transfered to minor children but not adult children. If if a person dies without a survivig spouse and his/her children are adults, then no one gets the decedent's SS benefits. It sucks but i've seen it happen.
