Has anyone ever made a lateral transfer or transfered to a lower ranked school? I'm considering a transfer out of my current school to any other school that will accept me.

There are a lot of law students trying to transfer down in the hope of getting school scholarships and grants as "over qualified" law students. The reality, is that those scholarships and grants are issued primarily for 1st yr students and continue for the remainder of their law school education. Transfer-in students are usually not awarded those law school scholarships. I would try anyway.

The best scholarships are awarded by the law schools themselves to top applicants, however, there are many scholarships based on merit. The problem is that if you transfer down, you will have to complete a full semester of course work in order to apply for the merit grant.
Try donating money or setting up a donor advised fund with the law school and i'm sure you'll get in!
