why is this a required class as Univ of Chicago? Its not on the bar exam, and this is not business school

bus org is required at many LS because it touches on corporate matters such as duties of board members to the company, contracts, securities, tax matters, and finance. I took bus org and it was a refreshing experience in comparison to the other traditional law courses. Bus org questions can be found on the bar exam, in the essays and multiple choice questions.

business organizations aka business associations overlaps contracts law and business torts. Thats why its a required class, because its a heavily tested are of law. BTW, its a great class. Thank business law from undergrad X 10.

i agree with sbaco. Biz org is a necessary course to aid in bar exam prep. Biz Org's central topics include the creation of new business entities; the selection of financing and compensation structures; the often competing rights and claims of investors, managers and other stakeholders; the reorganization and transfer of ownership and control; and the nature and regulation of organizational misconduct. Biz org is a great class because it highlights tort claims, remedies, contracts, all in one course. There is usually a bar exam question on a business organization question, and many multiple choice questions on the same.
