if I didn't get a scholarship package along with the acceptance letter, does that mean that I am pretty much out of running for merit aid? or is there a separate letter for it?

The law school may not be offering a tuition waiver, but you may qualify for other merit or gender based scholarships. I would contact the law school and ask them if you qualify. Also check with the financial aid department for opportunities and the net.

I called the law school and they are not offering and tuition assistance, but i can apply for grants and federal loans. I already have 77,000 in student loans from UG. So, to add another 150,000 freightens me. I was happy to get into LS, now i'm scared. Not sure what i will do.

You are smart to be considering the amount of debt you are taking on as your income will be limited unless you graduate top of your class at a top law school. Where are you going? Which law school?
