I will be starting my first year of law school next month at Michigan. The class schedule for first year is the same for everyone. During 2L, should I ll be trying to take a wide variety of classes?

I would not try to "major" in law school because you need to prepare for the bar exam. Once you pass the bar, then you should either get a masters degree or an LL.M.

Stay focused on courses that will help you pass the bar exam.

I kinda agree with laurie, but at the same time, you dont need 86+ credits to get ready for the bar exam. I will have taken all bar exam related courses and 6 intellectual property courses by graduation. So, you can do an LL.M or at least take a few specialized courses in law school.
