preptest 52, section 1, question 16
in the stimulus it says "UFCs conclusively refuted...therefore belief in Extenze is false as well."
In the answer, it says "demonstrated that there are no cats, so there are no uncles either" (nouns changed)
but I don't think that is a good enough match, because the word belief is missing. There is a difference between something existing, and believing it exists.
I can prove santa doesn't exist, but my baby cousin still believes in santa. Am I right or what?
-----------------------
second question. Preptest 45, section 1, question 26
This is more of a complaint. I feel the wording of the stimulus "most city budgets do not allow for the immediate hiring of new staff" is a little misleading. I was sure it was policy problem, not monetary. Thoughts

PT 52 sec 1 q 16 was the only LR i missed in the section, and i understand your frustration. though with POE i suppose it is the "most" similar. i answered D. E would have been the closest if it wasnt a MN. The clue lies in the part of the conclusion about there are NO UFO, whereas D says no good reason TO BELIEVE.
therefore A most closesly mirrors the reasoning.

thank you for the response. That question is tricky but i'm glad I get to think it through before I take the actual exam.
BTW: How are you scoring? Where are you applying to?

my index score is about 164-166. I need 169-171 in order to get into T15 school. I hope to apply to Georgetown, U of M, or Cornell.
I'll probably tank on exam day and end up living with my parents until im 40.
