If the divorce judgement states that the wife gets the house and husband and wife used to own the house jointly, when the new deed is prepared, do you need to reference the divorce judgement and attach a copy to the deed? Or do you just file the deed without reference to the divorce judgement? State is California. Thanks for your help.

Its always a good idea to attached the judgment. You never know what the mortgage company is going to require to close on a deal and you don't want to be digging for paperwork years later, just have it where it needs to be right from the get go to avoid problems.
