Client wants to hire an employee that is currently under a non-compete. The non-compete expires in 9 months. If the client contacts the prior employer and offers to buy out the employee's non-compete and the prior employer is not willing to sell, then the new employer effectively put the old employer on notice that the employee is or will be infringing on the non-compete. Question: what is the most common to break a non-compete?

Go in stealth mode! People violate contracts all the time. If you dont get caught, then there is no violation of the contract.
