valuation of a business 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1  
I have a buyer that wants to purchase seller's business. Based on the financial statements there is an upward income trend but the this also a slight upward net business loss trend. There is significant depreciation and wages. I'm sure sure what the value of the business is, but my buyer keeps saying "its very busy".

Before I get an opinion from the buyer's CPA, can someone tell me what to look out for or what ratios are important to consider when determining value?

Hey Brian.

Raising sale, but decreasing net income.....Check into the following:

Profit margins are shrinking bit sales are increasing.
There are sources of income outside of operations that are increasing revenue
There were unexpected expenses
There is an accrual to cash adjustment.

Make that you obtain a qualified appraisal.
