Bar exam application - prior employment 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
When I go to take the bar exam, with the state bar contact my employers to find out if i am worthly to practice law? The reason I ask is b/c I didnt leave on good terms with my last employer. Do i have anything to worry about?

No, unless they learn of some activity at your prior employment that deems the the Bar to contact your employer. For example, if you were embezzelling from the prior employer or something along those terms. Its mostly a criminal background check and the such, not whehter you have gotton along with your prior employers.

Most states also require that you submit finger prints, so hopefully you dont have a record!

I think the board of law examiners only audits an application if the applicant has a problem, like getting sactioned or has other problems. My firends application was held up because he was filing bankruptcy prior to taking the bar exam. Doesnt that suck? He passes teh bar and cant practice because of his bankruptcy and he cant work to stay out of bankruptcy

I had a friend that was investigated for bouncing a couple of checks a couple of months into the application process. The application was not held up very long, but they sure did look into it. Its hard to tell what catches their attention sometimes.
