when to mass mail resumes? 2 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0  
Law firms usually start doing interviews and hiring around August. So if I wanted to just mass mail my resume to a bunch of firms, should I start doing sending out resumes now or next month?

most larger law firms have a hiring committee that meets once a month usually at the end of the month. So, you want to get your resume and references in early so that your resume doesn't have to sit around and get lost before the next's months meeting.

I have a friend at a large 110 attorney law firm in Ohio. He said that his firm interviews law school grads but isnt hiring. They interview just to keep their name out there. So, dont get discouraged if you go on an interview and they dont call you back, because they may not have been in a position to hire at all.

Or you can enlist a job placement professional that will do the calling for you so you can concentrate on school or work.

I decided to cold call partners in charge at law firms and asking them if i can email them a copy of my resume. So far, 4 partners said to send it but that they were not hiring. So, i will keep trying. I've got 49 more states to go!
