law school drop out? 2 Years, 11 Months ago
I finished my first year of law school at a top 50 law school which i will leave nameless. My first year final scores were substantially lower (2.9 overall GPA) than I anticipated considering my undergrad GPA of 3.6 and LSAT score of 161. While i didnt fail-out my scores are low enough to be overlooked for any type of summer employment and I just spent $34,000 for first year not including room and board.

Can someone tell me whether I should complete the next two years or count my losses and move on?

A 2.9 anywhere is no stellar. However, you need to determine whether you can make substantial improvements with your analysis and writing in order to raise your scores.

What is your class like? Where are you at? LS?

I am studying at Univ of Toledo in Ohio. I'd say my class is rather strong. There are at least three students in my class that received full rides to U of T and chose u of T rather than I higher tier law school.

I understand your rational and reasoning. However, I am just depressed but mainly disappointed with my performance.

I am taking a class this summer just to stay busy and try to boost my GPA and self confidence.
