Most attorneys that are self employed dont use a secretary or paralegal. My boyfriend graduated Univ of Toledo LS and started his own practice doing intellectual property and he pays $550 month in rent and space shares with other attorneys and his monthly overhead is about $1,100 per month when you include phone, westlaw, and books/supplies. So, his overhead is about $13,000 per year. Thats pretty low. So, if he can do it then anyone can.
