Notary designation 1 Year ago Karma: 2
Anyone know how to become a notary? I was just on an interview and the employer asked me if I was a notary. What does it cost?

to become a notary you need to be bonded by an insurance company and then take an oath with the county in which you live. i believe that you can get everything done for about $100 to $150. check out www.notaryexpress.com

If you are talking about a notary designation in Michigan, you might find it interesting to know that a few months ago the State of Michigan has waived the bonding requirement if you are an attorney in good standing with the Michigan State Bar. That means you have to fill out the application, take the oath at the circuit court clerks office, pay $10.00 and that is it. A bond for a attorney in Michigan is no longer required, if you are in good standing with the bar.
