Shorter summer internship 7 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 3  
Many of the larger NY and Chicago firms are feeling the pinch of the economy and they are reducing the term of the summer intership from 11 weeks to 8 weeks. In some situations, that are even delaying the hiring of new associates to January to help with their year-end income statement.

The economy is no joke these days. There are many medium to large size firms closing their doors altogehter, or re-organizing and making themselves smaller and leaner. Everyone seems to be having a harder and harder time making it these days. Think about how things are, a gallon of gas is now more expensive than gallon of milk. Its nuts.
