I've been practicing for the LSAT for a little over a year now -- but only a little bit per day. Once or twice a month I'd do a section or two. A month ago I began studying with some intensity, and I slowly pushed my score up from the mid-150s to the mid-160s. But over the past week, I've begun scoring in the 150s again, and it just seems to get worse. I did LR questions that I had done a year ago by covering my circled answers -- questions and sections that I did amazing on back then are ridiculously hard now. I can barely even finish reading the stimulus before I lose concentration -- or I have to reread it a bunch of times, and even then it's still hard.

Has this happened to anybody else? Any advice on how to get back on track?

ARe you enrolled in a prep course? The best way to get back on track is to go thru a bunch of questions. Usually taking a course will help motivate you to run thru a bunch of questions.

When are you taking the LSAT?

Step away from the books for about 3-5 days then come back to it. Otherwise it like trying to proof-read your own works - you will never catch your errors.

The LSAT can feel hard and it is, but just do your best. Many people have to redo it and many lawschools take the best out of the scores taken. Make sure to check with the schools you are looking at though, some average them out. Remember that the scores are only good for 5 years too, after that they expire.

Thats interesting. I didnt know that the LSAT scores only had a shelf life of 5 yrs. Thats great if you want to wipe the slate clean. However, who wants to wait 5 yrs to apply for law school? My friend took the MCAT 3 times. MCAT scores are not averaged like LSAT scores.

Some schools average the lsat but not all, many take the higher of the scores. Thats why you should ask before taking it, if you know which schools are your main choices.

Nothing wrong with having a few "safety" backup schools on the list either though.
