I am currently a sophomore in college and i am studying criminal justice. I am considering business school or law school. So far my GPA is 3.42 with a full load. Its not top 10% but its the top 40%. My fear with the LSAT is that i am horrible at standardized tests. What are your thoughts.

An ivy league business school will provide you with great skills and education for a finance career. I take objection with the statement that a law degree forces you to only practice law. I have many friends that stopped practicing law and work for investment banking firms and started their own business. So, its really up to you to determine what you want to do and which degree will provide you with the most options. Personally, either is a good choice. For me, a law degree means more. Good luck.

Consider a joint MBA/JD program

Harvard and Northwestern have great JD/MBA programs. Its also really difficult to complete within 3 yrs. So, just plan on 1 extra year of tuition. I think you also need to submit a GMAT score along with your LSAT.

There has been a lot of threads on this similar topic, either combo-ing a law degree with an MBA or deciding not to practice law. Seems like a law degree is becoming as basic as an undergraduate degree.

I think an MBA from a top 10 ivy league school is more valuable than a JD from a t-100 law school. There are just too many attorney chasing too few paying clients.
