raw score 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
I usually miss 4-5 on LR, and the other day I missed 8 on both sections of a particular test. I got freaked out until I saw the curve...80 which is often near 160 whereas for this test it was 70.

So how important is a raw score when keeping up with your practice tests? I also get into the habit of comparing my raw score to the newer LSATs which have more difficult curves...I know this doesnt make sense but I end up doing it anyways...

Raw score only matters relative to the curve. You'll find many people have the same experience: sometimes you can miss 13 and get a 170, sometimes you can only miss 8 or so.

Obviously, you want your raw score to be as high as possible because that means you're getting more questions right. However, what law schools are going to be looking at is how you stack up according to the percentile compared to other test takers, and the 120-180 score is a representation of that.
