Jacob We are getting into this a little bit in my income tax course at school. I think it makes a difference if the employer has an entity here. Besides the employee is required to file a tax return each year no matter the income level. that is one way they keep track.
jano There are many threads on FEIE. What i'm interested in knowing is whether the foreign employer has a reporting requirement to the IRS stating that a certain employee is working overseas? I'v read the Form 2555 and it appears to be an election only. But, does the employer have a filing responsibility? If not then how is it policed?
