I'm putting one together and making a professional and semi social page. I figure it a good way to advertise and make it a positive thing for me. If people are checking these pages, must as well try to take advantage of it and make it work fo ryou.

I think that your facebook/myspace page is more important to employers. I'm sure employers google search you prior to hire.
The other problem with FB & MS is that other people can post incriminating photos of you.
Gotta be careful what you put on the web as its difficult to remove it.

Its funny you ask. I just read an article last week that says more and more employers are checking the interet to see what they can find out about a potential candidate before an interview. And a lot of employers are checking myspace, facebook, youtube and other such similar sites. The like answer to your question is, yes.

Yeah...in a normal world, my facebook wouldn't have anything to be worried about. But I have a hunting album on there, which is what inspired me to ask about this. I know some people have strong feelings against hunting/guns/conservatives in general, and I want to avoid any possible negatives. Though I mention I'm a hunter in my application and I am not ashamed of it one bit (quite the contrary), pictures can illicit a different kind of reaction from some people.

Wouldn't be surprised if they were.
But seriously, what's going to get you dinged? Unless all your photos are nothing but drunken idiocy or your Activities include your local KKK chapter, I don't think you'd have anything to be worried about.
All someone would gather from my Facebook is that I like soccer, am engaged, and go to the beach/lake a lot. I don't think there's anything incriminating on 90% of people's websites.

Do you think that my facebook pages will be reviewed prior to interviews? If so, I may want to delete the page!
Anyone have any expereice or thoughts?
