Mark L. I had the same question and asked the head of the Pre-Law major at my school. Her response was that those who spend 200 hours or more preparing for the LSAT will see better results. Obviously, this is a huge investment of time that some may not have the time to commit to. Also, after having talked to people who took the LSAT without prep courses and those who had, the general consensus was that the prep course helped their scores, but it really depended on what teacher they had. Hope this information helps, and good luck.
Mark Kaplan has a book which is sold at book stores. I used it before I took the Kaplan course. It really helped give me an edge in taking the lsat.

If you have time, give it a try.

Brian I want to take the LSAT. Which course should I use to best help me prepare for the LSAT?

I've asked people how much time i should take to prepare for the LSAT, and the response is that there is no set minimum time required. Any recommendations? I ask because I am horrible at standardized tests.
