jpol Its for my brother who is in Boston MA.

I thought that 5 years was too long. What would happen if he breaches the signed agreement to not compete in that area?

Noncompete clauses or agreements are held unlawful and unenforceable in other states. However,many employers or businesses still include noncompete clauses in agreements.
jpol What is the normal length of a non-compete for a engineer workin in the electrical automotive field? 5 yrs seems too long, will a court uphold?
