Kash i think a decedent's SS benefits can be transfered to minor children but not adult children. If if a person dies without a survivig spouse and his/her children are adults, then no one gets the decedent's SS benefits. It sucks but i've seen it happen.
Mark Social security benefits are not transferrable. In a divorce, the spouse claims SS benefits usually takes compensation in another form such as other marital assets. Thats why its important to factor the value of SS into other property distributions.
Tim46 I thought social security benefits were unattachable in any type of proceeding?
Jackie Can a divorced spouse receive social security benefits from her ex?
