Sumo Don't get me wrong, drunk driving is not a good thing. But, the laws are way out of control. They are going way too far. Since these harsher law have been enacted, there is no significant change in the accident toll. Its MADD using the government to get revenenge for mis-placed feelings. The group is netting over 40 million a year after paying all their lobbyists and for other activities. They have become a special interest that is out of control.
Jackie Mississippi has a Blood Alcohol Trailer they use in the field to process drunk drivers quicker.

British Columbia police set up sting operations in fast-food joints to nail drunk drivers using drive-thru windows for late-night snacks.

Wyoming is proposing legislation allowing police officers to arrest and jail drunk driving motorists until the sober up.

Louisiana enacted a new law that requires drunk driving offenders to install an ingintion interlock device in their vehicles if they apply for a hardship license allowing them to drive to and from school, work, etc.

Arizona Sheriff brought back chain gangs for people convicted of drunk driving. The convicts are dressed in bright pink shirts and forced to clean streets and help with burials of those who died of alcohol abuse.

Michigan enacted "Heidi's Law" to penalize repeat drunk driving offenders by allowing prosecutors to go back indefinitely when looking for past drink driving convictions (after 3 offenses, you're charged with a felony).

Oklahoma is calling for a designation to be placed on the driver's license of a drink driving offender for a minimum of four years.
