norton One thing that should be noted about so-called non-death penalty states, is that even though a state may not have the death penalty, the federal legal system in that state does. Our federal government still have a death penalty. For example, Michigan does not have a death penalty, but the federal district in Michigan does. Just food for thought.
steve Below is a link to an interesting article I found from the CNN Law Center about the death penalty imposed on juveniles. The article is dated Tuesday, March 1, 2005 Posted: 11:29 AM EST (1629 GMT). After some research, the article appears to still be valid.

What I found interesting is that while 31 states have no death penalties for juveniles, the following states have no statutes prohibiting the death penalty for juveniles:

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, S. Dakota, Tennessee, Washington, Wyoming.
