steve Property owned as tenants in common does not require the other co-owners to sign the deed if one co-owner wants to transfer his interest. The exception is if the deed has restrictions on transfer or if there is a buy/sell agreement between the parties.

Husband and wife can own property as tenants in common, but state law may say that is husband and wife own property together as "husband and wife", then such titling will create tenants by the entirety property.
Micky B If a client owns a piece of property as tenants in common, does the other co owner need to sign the deed in order for the other co-owner to transfer his interest in the property? Can husband and wife own property as tenants in common or do husband and wife automatically own property as by the tentireties?
