bigdaddy Not that this has anything to do with the topic of discussion, but I have been following the Anna Nicole Smith develops with a morbid curosity. I came across this article and found it interesting. I find it interesting because this stuff involving her never seems to end; from the court battle over her husbands estate, to this most recent suit involving the kid, her or her reps have been in court for almost 10 years striaght, it seems -and not more people are going to be in court because of her legacy:

Six charged in theft of laptop with images of Anna Nicole Smith

Published: Tuesday, May 15, 2007
The Associated Press

RUTLAND — Six people have been charged in the theft of a laptop computer containing unreleased images of Anna Nicole Smith.

The laptop was recovered undamaged several days after an April 16 break-in at Edgewood Studios, which produced the late playmate’s last movie, “Illegal Aliens.” There’s no indication the people who took the computer knew what was on it, but they did turn on the computer and view the images, said police Detective Ray Lamoria.

“I know that one of them said they knew they had something that was valuable,” said Lamoria. “Their main effort was to sell the computer. I don’t think they were making any effort to download the photos and sell them on the Web.”

The computer included future movie scripts, plot lines, phone numbers, e-mail addresses as well as the unreleased images of Smith, whose final movie was released on DVD on May 1.

“They were even far more valuable than we let on,” said Edgewood President David Giancola.

Smith, 39, died Feb. 8 of an accidental drug overdose.

Lamoria said the men told police they took advantage of storm-related power outages that struck most of the city that day to “do some shopping.” A security camera at PEGTV, a community access television station, recorded part of the break-in, Lamoria said.

Police had their first lead before the burglaries even were reported.

On April 16, Daniel J. Guyette, 18, of Rutland was arrested on unrelated charges and found with a new pair of work gloves and a bottle of maple syrup later reported stolen from Edgewood Studios.

Within a few days, Lamoria said, police got a search warrant for the home of Aaron M. Gero, 18, of West Rutland.

Giancola’s laptop was found in Gero’s home.

All six are due in court June 18.
bigdaddy So how does the baby's daddy benefit at all in this, why go through all the trouble? He must get control of some of the money until the kid is 18, right?
Mark Baby's daddy gets nothing, technically.

The remaining assets after payment debts taxes and expenses will be held in trust for the daughter and upon the age of 18, daughter gets all assets.

Anna's mother gets nothing.

I wish I was getting some of the attorney fees.
bigdaddy So now that Burkhart has won the paternity suit and has custordy of Anna Nicole's child, what does this mean? Does he get her entire estate because he has the kid? Is the mother entitled to anything? Does he have to give all the money to the kid at a certain age? Is it held in trust and he is the administrator? What?
