Jackie if there is no non compete then everything goes. But, it's up to the client in the end and the they have to retrieve their files from your old firm.
norton That going to be dictated by the non-compete agreement. But, I don't think there is anything wrong with telling people you are moving from you old firm to another or going out on your own, as a general annoucement. But, what level of specific contact with an individual client is going to be dictated by the non-compete.
Tomas Model Rules of Professional Conduct states that its the client who determines who she/he wants to represent them. Question: when you leave a firm what methods of contact are appropriate? Assume there is no non-compete.
